Celtic fans on Twitter have been calling for their club to sign Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent deal during the upcoming summer transfer window after seeing his performance during their recent 3-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish Cup.
Goals from James Forrest, Ryan Christie and Elyounoussi secured the win for John Kennedy’s side in the third round of the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park.
Elyounoussi, who is currently on loan at the Parkhead side from Premier League club Southampton, came on as a substitute during the second half of the game and wrapped up the win for Celtic with his goal.
After the match ended, lots of Hoops fans took to Twitter to share their pleas with the club to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal this summer when his loan spell ends.
So, what did these Celtic fans have to say about Elyounoussi?
“Criminal if we don’t try and sign Elyounoussi”
“We need to sign Elyounoussi on a permanent”
“Would love Elyounoussi permanently in the summer.”
“It’s settled for me. If we can get Elyounoussi for a decent price (5/6million) we should take it. Always good for a goal and if he’s played on the bench, then so be it, he’s a great option to be bringing on”
“Surely Celtic need to sign Elyounoussi in the summer, boys class”
“Gotta sign Elyounoussi. With a decent manager he could be class.”
Looking at these tweets from this group of Celtic fans, it’s clear to see that they would be over the moon to see their club try and sign the £10.8 million rated man on a permanent deal from Southampton this summer.
Given how the 26-year-old has managed to score 22 goals and provide 12 assists in the 61 appearances he’s made for the club, it’s understandable why these Hoops fans would like to see him sign on a permanent basis.
Should Celtic try and sign Elyounoussi permanently this summer?
In our view, if Celtic can work out a good deal for Elyounoussi with Southampton this summer and if he wants to stay at Celtic, then this should be a priority for the club.
