Journalist Derek McGregor has recently provided a positive update about Eddie Howe’s move to Celtic.

This came after McGregor came on as a guest on the latest episode of the Celtic Huddle podcast and the panel talked about numerous issues involving the Hoops and their potential managerial appointment. McGregor gave positive updates about Howe’s potential Parkhead move.

The journalist believes that even though there is silence in the media, it doesn’t mean that no progress is taking place. He revealed that talks indeed are happening, despite the silence and apparent inactivity.

Brighton and Crystal Palace are also said to be interested in Howe, with Celtic having fears about the Selhurst Park-based club coming in for the Englishman.

The journalist talked about whether there was any movement in Celtic’s chase for Howe, stating (34:08): “I think just because there’s silence at the moment doesn’t mean nothing’s happening. I think it’s the well-worn phrase, talks are happening. As things stand, I’d stick my neck out and say Eddie Howe will become the next Celtic manager.”

TIF Thoughts on Howe to Celtic…

While McGregor’s comments should fill Celtic fans with optimism about having Howe as their manager, Stephen McGowan has also recently provided a positive update about the Englishman.

The supposedly reliable journalist has claimed that Howe is just piecing together the staff that he wants to work with at Parkhead and the Englishman is close to finalising an agreement with the Bhoys to succeed Neil Lennon at the club.

So all in all, things seem positive in the saga and perhaps Celtic fans should now be patient about further progress in the deal.
