Journalist John McGarry has recently given an update about Celtic’s chase of Eddie Howe.

McGarry appeared on the latest episode of the Celtic Huddle podcast and the panel asked him about various issues involving the Hoops. He was also asked about Howe and his potential Parkhead move.

McGarry revealed that both the parties are relaxed about Howe’s move to Celtic and no one’s running away from it. The discussions about the structure are just taking a long while to sort out and that’s holding up the deal.

It has been previously reported that Celtic have fears about Howe and his potential rejection to join Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The deal has been agreed in principle but Howe has made a demand for Richard Hughes to join him.

McGarry revealed details about the chase and said (6:42): “I’m told that both parties are fairly relaxed about the situation in terms of negotiations. Nobody’s stormed off in a huff or anything like that. It’s just taking a long time to get these discussions over structure and personnel over the line.”

TIF Thoughts on Howe…

Dominic McKay has arrived at Celtic before the initially suggested date, with Peter Lawwell set to retire. Perhaps, that is a sign of the fact that the Hoops want to get things wrapped up quickly and complete Howe’s signing.

The Hoops play a Champions League qualifier in June, which shows that the managerial appointment has to come as soon as possible. So Celtic should be wary of all of these factors and the appointment should be made as soon as possible.
