Celtic supporters have been reacting on Facebook after a report emerged revealing Roy Keane is back in contention to become the new Hoops manager.

The former Sunderland and Ipswich Town boss was believed to be a frontrunner to succeed Neil Lennon at Parkhead a few weeks ago before Eddie Howe became the candidate of choice.

However, according to Football Insider, Keane is now back in the frame after Howe had second thoughts over a potential move north of the border, with the former Bournemouth boss now hoping to make a return to the Premier League.

Fans of the Glasgow giants don’t appear to be too excited by the prospective appointment of the 49-year-old, though, with many questioning whether he has the credentials to succeed in such a high-profile role.

Keane’s previous endeavours weren’t the most successful, achieving 1.45 points per game at Sunderland and 1.37 at Ipswich, while his last managerial role was 10 years ago, so it’s understandable why the Celtic fans are so pessimistic over his potential appointment.
