Celtic fans have been reacting to news surrounding Polish forward Patryk Klimala.

The Polish forward was bought by Celtic in the winter window of 2020 in a reported £3.5m deal, but didn’t exactly shine during his time in Scotland, scoring just three goals in 28 appearances for the club.

However, it was confirmed today that Klimala will no longer be a part of the club, as the club announced that he has signed for MLS side New York Red Bulls on a permanent basis, with recent reports suggesting that the club would be set to pocket around €4m (£3.5m) in exchange for his services, getting back roughly what they initially paid for him.

And when the news was announced to the fans on social media, there were plenty of fans who weren’t too happy to see him depart, with many angry at the club for the way they have treated him, seemingly not giving him a proper opportunity to showcase what he can do:

“We let him down tbh hope he does well over there”

“He never got a fair chance with Lennon’s tactics of 1 or 0 strikers in games.”
“Yous are absolute idiots man”
“Never got a fair crack at it truth be told.”
“Didn’t get a chance… Outstanding work ethic that put a lot of our players to shame!”
“Can’t fault him for effort and desire. More than can be said for the majority of the rest.”
“Day ruined”
“Unbelievable from Celtic, another wasted young talent”

Is Klimala's move away a sign of Celtic's poor recruitment?

At least with the finances reportedly involved, they haven’t lost out big time on the deal, now we’ll just have to see if his departure ends up costing them on the pitch.
