Celtic supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report emerged claiming the Hoops hope to confirm Eddie Howe as their new manager this week.

The Glasgow giants have been without a permanent manager since Neil Lennon resigned in February after seeing his side fall 18 points off the pace in the league.

Since then, John Kennedy has been placed in charge on an interim basis as the club’s hierarchy continues to search for Lennon’s successor.

Several big names have been linked with a move to Parkhead, including Roy Keane, Chris Wilder and Rafa Benitez, but according to The Scottish Sun, former Bournemouth boss Howe has verbally agreed to take over the reins at Celtic.

However, the report also states that the 43-year-old’s desire to bring Richard Hughes in from the Cherries to aid his recruitment drive over the summer is delaying the completion of any deal, and it seems as though the supporters are growing tired of waiting.

After winning nine league titles in a row, this season has been a huge disappointment for Celtic, and whoever takes charge over the summer will have a big rebuilding job on their hands.
