A lot of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to show their delight at the latest injury news to emerge ahead of their Old Firm derby clash on the weekend.

According to journalist Alison Conroy, Celtic midfielder James Forrest will return from injury in time for their trip to Ibrox on Sunday.

The 29-year-old has endured a torrid 2020/21 season which has been shortened dramatically by an ankle injury and reduced his game time to just nine Scottish Premiership appearances (via Transfermarkt).

However, he is reportedly set to return for the weekend’s clash at Ibrox as Celtic aim for their first win against Steven Gerrard’s side this season.

In response to Conroy’s tweet, Celtic fans flocked to show their elation at the news of the expected return of Forrest.

“It the stage where am happy to see Forrest fit so a don’t need to watch Ryan “shoots from distance” Christie”

As a result of his turbulent season, Forrest has only two Premiership goals to his name and both came within the first six games of the 2020/21 campaign before suffering his long-term injury.

Celtic have lost all three of their games against the Gers this season across all competitions, but it seems the Hoops fans believe the return of Forrest could help them to avoid another derby defeat.
