Many Celtic fans have been reacting furiously to comments made by interim manager John Kennedy ahead of this weekend’s game with Livingston.

Celtic don’t have a lot to play for this season in terms of the league given that the destiny of the title has already been decided, although second place is up for grabs and can be clinched this weekend with victory at Celtic Park.

But there is more than just that on the line in the eyes of Kennedy and the club as they are looking to finish the season on a high note after what has been a terrible campaign for the team both on and off the pitch.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, he said “We have to get back to a high level of performance, good and attacking style of football – scoring goals and winning games. We want to bring that back.”

However, those words fell on deaf ears with the fans on social media, as they ripped into his comments as they felt they had heard this sort of rhetoric before, and it wouldn’t mean anything unless they back it up:

“You and Lennon have been saying that all season.”

“Do it then and stop talking about it.”
“Talk is cheap.”
“It’s just words really the same old words that have been said all year. Do your talking on the pitch!!!!”
“All of the above have been missing the entire season it’s not been a blip.”
“Maybe a new manager would”
“Time you parted our club”
“The way you’re treating the fans is shocking, get Kennedy and Strachan out now.”

Do you think John Kennedy will get a job elsewhere?

Yes

Looks as if the supporters don’t just want a win on Saturday, but a convincing one at that.
