Lots of Celtic supporters have been fuming at a news update involving Vasilis Barkas that recently emerged on social media.

It was recently reported that Greek outfit PAOK are interested in bringing Barkas back to Greece in an attempt to help the goalkeeper resurrect his career. PAOK could be willing to sign him on a loan deal and Barkas is said to not have a future under Eddie Howe, who could be the club’s next manager. As things stand, Celtic know that they can’t recoup the fee that they paid to AEK Athens to sign Barkas last summer.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

Since arriving through, the Greek goalkeeper has made only 13 starts for the Hoops and he started only a couple of Europa League games (as per Whoscored).

A lot of these Celtic fans have made it clear that they want Barkas to depart the club and they don’t want to see him play for the club anymore.

Having said that, the Hoops spent a significant sum on him but they gave him only a limited amount of starts. So it would be better for fans to judge Barkas when he’s played more, especially during a season when the Hoops are playing better.
