Lots of Celtic fans have flocked to a tweet from The Scottish Sun relaying their exclusive report regarding John Kennedy and his future with the Parkhead side.

The 37-year-old took temporary charge of the Bhoys after the club parted ways with Neil Lennon in February and has yet to be replaced on a permanent basis.

A long list of names have been linked with the vacant role as permanent Celtic manager, however, The Scottish Sun has reported there may still be an opportunity for Kennedy with the club.

According to their report, Kennedy is in the frame for the sporting director role, with the club hoping to confirm Eddie Howe as their new manager.

Despite Kennedy’s long affiliation with the Hoops, not all Celtic fans were pleased to hear this claim with many venting their anger at the tweet.

“What is that John Kennedy has on the Celtic board? “

The tweet continued to receive replies from frustrated Bhoys fans.

“If John Kennedy stays at Celtic then it should be down to Howe agreeing to it alongside his own staff wishes, not forced upon him.”

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out for the Parkhead side with a summer rebuild on the cards according to reports as a result of their disappointing season which saw bitter rivals Rangers lift the Scottish Premiership trophy.
