Celtic pundit Paul John Dykes has talked about Lewis Ferguson, saying that he’d take the Aberdeen man at Parkhead in a heartbeat.

On the latest episode of the ‘A Celtic State of Mind’ podcast, the panel talked about numerous issues involving the Hoops. One topic of discussion was Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson and whether they’d like him at Celtic.

Dykes believes that the Scotsman has progressed well since he joined the Pittodrie-based club and he is ready for a step-up to a club like Celtic soon.

Ferguson found the back of the net for the Dons in Aberdeen’s recent 1-1 draw against Celtic. His uncle Barry Ferguson has previously talked up the midfielder’s potential move to Parkhead too.

Dykes talked about the 21-year-old Scotsman and said (39:36): “Lewis Ferguson, I’d have him in a heartbeat. He looks like a player that’s progressed so well since he went from Hamilton to Aberdeen. But I also think that he can make the step and I’m saying the step up to Celtic, as if we’re lauding it over Aberdeen at the moment. But in terms of the club, I think it’s a step up from Aberdeen to Celtic.”

TIF Thoughts on Ferguson to Celtic…

Ferguson already has a lot of experience of playing in the Premiership, having played in the competition for both Aberdeen and Hamilton in the past.

He has impressed in the current season, having scored eight league goals and picking up a couple of assists as well. As a result, he has grabbed a rating of 7.07 for the Dons (as per Whoscored).

With Scott Brown heading to Aberdeen in the summer, the Bhoys will need someone to potentially replace him. Ferguson is young and might still improve in the future. So signing him could be a good move for Hoops.
