Wolves legend Steve Bull believes that his former side will begin to win trophies in the not too distant future should they retain their star players.

Having returned to the top-flight with consecutive 7th place finishes in their first two seasons back in the Premier League, many might’ve anticipated a continued upward trajectory for the Midlands club.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have found matters hard going this season, primarily following a serious head injury to talismanic striker Raul Jimenez.

With star performers such as Pedro Neto linked with a move away from Molineux, speaking to Football FanCast, Bull has predicted glory for the club where he made 561 appearances; should they be able to keep their important assets:

“We will win trophies and I think in the next 1218 months we will win some silverware of any kind. However, it’s whether or not the players can be bothered to stick around or will they be wanting it sooner rather than later.”

Can Wolves challenge for trophies next season?

Given the successes of the last two seasons and the investment in the squad, competing for trophies is perhaps the natural progression for this Wolves side.

Keeping prized assets will be imperative if that is going to be the case however, having sold Diogo Jota last summer to Liverpool, Espirito Santo will be desperate for major sales not to become a trend.
