Wolves journalist Nathan Judah thinks that Morgan Gibbs-White could be in line to play a few more games following his showing against Fulham.

The 21-year-old, valued at £5.4m on Transfermarkt, only had a 15-minute cameo during Wolves’ win on Friday night, but certainly made an impact, completing 86% of his passes and playing a big part in the winning goal late in the game.

And with Wolves’ season pretty much over now as they sit 12 points above the drop zone, combined with a number of injuries to other players within the squad, speaking on the E&S Wolves podcast, Judah, whilst praising his brief cameo at Craven Cottage, thinks that Wolves fans could be seeing a little bit more of the youngster between now and the end of the season:

“The best I’ve seen Morgan Gibbs-White for a while, to be honest. Look, it’s only a flash in the pan, shortened minutes, but he definitely looked more ‘at it’, I think, especially when we were at the game, better to look on the eye, looked like he was really going for it.

“He obviously made a couple of nice passes, set Fabio [Silva] up before he put Traore up for the winner. He definitely looked better to me and that’s good to see. We need to see more of that and he might get the chance, Nuno’s not shy of giving him a chance.”

TIF Thoughts on Nathan Judah’s comments about Morgan Gibbs-White…

Judah seems to be pretty confident that Gibbs-White should get more minutes, and rightly so. Now that Wolves are pretty much assured a place in the Premier League for next season, they can start to look ahead and see if he has a place in the team long-term.

And with Wolves’ finances not looking great, then it’s possible that the club are going to have to look from within to improve the squad for next season, and Gibbs-White could play a part in that. Either that, or if they think he won’t make it, then they can sell him on in order to fund players coming in.

But they won’t know unless they give him regular minutes in the team, and now is as good a time as any for that to happen.
