Wolves journalist Joe Edwards thinks that Leonardo Campana doesn’t have a future at Wolves beyond this summer.

Campana, valued at £1.35m on Transfermarkt, was signed by Wolves in the winter window of 2020 and has since gone on to make a grand total of zero appearances for the club before heading out on loan this past summer to Portuguese side Famalicão.

He has finally managed to get off the mark for his side in recent weeks with two goals in the last two games, but when asked on the E&S Wolves Podcast whether or not the Ecuadorian has a future at the club, Edwards was quick to say that he felt his time at the club was pretty much over:

“I mean, he’s scored two goals in the Portuguese league for Famalicão. I don’t suspect he’s got any great future at Wolves to be honest. He might get a loan spell somewhere else, but, no, I don’t think he’s ever going to play for Wolves.”

Do you think that Wolves will spend big in the upcoming summer transfer window?

TIF Thoughts on Joe Edwards’ comments about Leonardo Campana at Wolves…

To say that he has been a flop would be slightly misleading because that would imply that he actually did something bad to warrant that label, when in fact he hasn’t done anything at all.

It does also seem that Wolves have got their future at the position sorted when it comes to the centre-forward spot. Once Raul Jimenez comes back from his injury he will likely be first choice, with Fabio Silva’s place as backup pretty much secure after the large amount that they shelled out on him.

The best that Wolves can hope for right now is that he carries on from his two recent goals and gets some more in the bag to raise his value, then spend that money on the rest of the squad.
