Ex-WHU Employee has been speaking on the latest edition of the West Ham Way podcast about all things relating to West Ham United.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

One of the topics that he spent a little bit of time on was strikers and potential forwards the Hammers could buy in the summer.

West Ham currently only have Michail Antonio as a natural centre-forward, with Andriy Yarmolenko capable of playing there.

So, when Antonio has been missing, the Hammers have not had a backup option since they sold Sebastien Haller in January.

However, Ex hinted that the club are looking at some strikers to potentially go out and buy this summer.

He said: (43:30) “I was tempted in my section to give an update on strikers that we are interested in because [there are] a few other strikers that they’ve started to look at and to scout and inquire about beyond the ones that I’d already reported before and in January.

“Nothing’s going to happen in that time because you’re not going to sign anyone in the next week. So in the next week, it might be a bit [more] clear cut where we exactly stand with these players.”

Do you think West Ham need another striker?

Yes, we need someone else

No, we are fine

TIF Thoughts on West Ham’s striker pursuit…

The Hammers have already been linked with moves for the likes of Tammy Abraham, so it is clear that West Ham want another striker and while Ex doesn’t provide any details on who, it is clear that the club are making moves.

Given that European football in the London Stadium next season is a strong possibility, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see the Hammers looking at new strikers.

We think they need to replace Haller, and we will be intrigued to see who they go for in the summer.
