Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the performance of Tanguy Ndombele during their game against Southampton.
Spurs kept up their challenge for a top-four spot with a 2-1 victory over Southampton in Ryan Mason’s first game in charge following the sacking of Jose Mourinho earlier in the week, as goals from Gareth Bale and Son Heung-min gave them three crucial points.
However things could have gone a lot better for them, at least according to the fans who were watching at home, if the Frenchman, valued at £45m on Transfermarkt, had put in a better display. It certainly wasn’t the best night for Ndombele, who despite completing 88% of his passes, didn’t create a key pass, complete a tackle or win an aerial duel before being replaced by Harry Winks.
It was no wonder, then, that there were plenty of fans who were willing to rip into his performance online during the game:
“Ndombele is a fraud”
Do you think Ndombele has had a good season with Spurs this year?
Yes
No
Whilst the three points are important, a better performance could have brought more goals, and who knows how big a role goal difference could play come the end of the season.
