Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration over the latest twist in their search for a new permanent manager.

Following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last week, Spurs have been linked with a number of managers to replace the 58-year-old.

One of the names reportedly high up on Daniel Levy’s shortlist was that of Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.

However, on Friday it was announced the Dutch manager has signed a new deal with the Eredivisie side which extended his stay with the Amsterdam outfit until 2023.

In response to the news, Spurs fans flocked to a tweet from journalist Jonathan Veal relaying the news as they looked for somewhere to vent their clear frustration.

“What an absolute mess”

Ten Hag has been at Ajax since 2017 after joining from fellow Dutch side Utrecht and is set to lift his second Eredivisie title at the end of this season (via Transfermarkt).

It is clear this is not the news these Spurs fans were hoping to hear after reports surfacing earlier in the week that he was the club’s top choices to replace Mourinho.
