However, City suffered a first-half sending-off for John Stones, which will see the 26-year-old suspended for the game at Wembley on Sunday.

Despite the setback for Guardiola’s side, many Spurs fans took to Twitter to share their frustration at Stones’ sending off.

“If anything, playing would be worse”

“Oh no now Laporte has to play”

The £27m-rated centre-back has made 20 appearances for City this season in the Premier League and has netted four goals in those games (via Transfermarkt).

Going by the reaction of these Spurs fans it is apparent they do not see Stones’ red card as a disadvantage to City with many of them highlighting the embarrassment of riches they have to replace the England international.
