A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on Alasdair Gold’s latest transfer claim ahead of this summer’s window.
The Spurs journalist believes the club are looking to sign a centre-back this summer who already has experience of playing in the Premier League.
One player which Gold has said Spurs ‘admire’ is Lewis Dunk of Brighton & Hove Albion with the centre-back believed to be their priority position to address this summer.
In response to Gold’s claim, a lot of Spurs fans responded to a tweet from The Spurs Web, which relayed the story from the Tottenham journalist.
“I wouldn’t he’s 29 already, we need someone experienced but in their 25s”
Dunk has played for the Seagulls since academy level and has racked up 336 appearances across all competitions for the south coast side (via Transfermarkt).
The £22.5m-rated centre-back has made 26 appearances for Graham Potter’s side in the Premier League alone this season and has scored four times.
All in all, it is pretty clear the Spurs fans want the centre-back positions addressed this summer and Dunk could become an even cheaper option if Brighton fails to stay up this season and are relegated to the Championship.
