Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a post revealed there are reportedly concerns over the fitness of the first-team squad.

Spurs failed to end their 13-year wait for some silverware as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup final over the weekend, with Manchester City lifting the trophy for the fourth consecutive season.

The north London outfit made the bold decision to sack Jose Mourinho just six days before Sunday’s final despite the 58-year-old Portuguese boss being one of the most successful managers in the modern era.

Now though, Football.london‘s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold is reporting that there are worries over the fitness of the players and that numerous errors that have been made throughout the current campaign are due to both physical and mental tiredness.

However, the fans are evidently not very sympathetic with the capital club’s apparent concern over their player’s welfare and view the latest information as mere excuses.

“The individual errors by players are not from tiredness physically or mentally it’s because they’re terrible at the job shop most of the defence out in the summer along with winks and Alli and rebuild from the back up!!”

@PeteyT89

“If the players felt the training wasn’t enough to keep them fit, they could have done extra in their own time. Sad excuse.”

@vin_1313

“Levy and Lewis are absolutely despicable. Quite literally anything to shift the blame away from themselves. ENIC Out”

@RyanMale99

“The problem is the players and their capabilities…”

@Ian_P_Brazier

“ok now sell them all”

@FutbolHeritage

“Bin the lot of them.”

@rockyhound

“Can we stop making excuses for these players? They have gotten two top-class coaches sacked. They don’t care, and they should be held accountable. Simple as that.”

@TexasWaylon

“That, if true, is inexcusable”

@MJBurroughs77

Tottenham are staring at a second season without Champions League football after falling to seventh in the top-flight table, and the lack of empathy from the fans is understandable.
