Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a post on the club’s official Twitter account after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg put in a dominant display while on international duty.

The Denmark international bagged a goal as well as providing an assist for Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen as Kasper Hjulmand’s men saw off Austria 4-0 in a convincing World Cup qualification victory.

Hojbjerg has impressed for the north London outfit since arriving from Southampton last summer, starting all 29 of Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures so far in this campaign.

However, his impressive performances in a Spurs shirt haven’t been enough to see the capital club move into a Champions League qualification spot, although the supporters may be more confident that that could change between now and the end of the season judging by their reaction to the 25-year-old’s showing last time out.

Jose Mourinho’s men face a struggling Newcastle United side over the weekend when the Premier League resumes, and Tottenham’s Portuguese boss will be hoping Hojbjerg can replicate this sort of form at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
