Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a tweet from Fabrizio Romano to react to his claim regarding their search for a new permanent manager.

Daniel Levy sacked Jose Mourinho last week bringing an end to his 17-month stint at the north London club and former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason has taken charge on a temporary basis.

On Wednesday night, Romano tweeted an update in Tottenham’s reported interest in Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.

He said: “Tottenham have scheduled a ‘direct meeting’ with Erik ten Hag. He’s among the candidates to become the new Spurs manager – Ten Hag is open to leave Ajax in the summer. Nothing decided yet.”

The Dutch manager has been at Ajax since 2017 after joining from Eredivisie side FC Utrecht and is set to lift his second Dutch title at the end of this campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Spurs fans flocked to the tweet to show their delight at Romano’s latest update in their search for a new manager.

“Let’s gooooo”

The Lilywhites lost in the Carabao Cup final on the weekend against Manchester City, which provided them with their last opportunity of the season to end their 13-year drought without a trophy.

The current Ajax manager is just one of many names to be linked with the permanent Spurs role, however, it is apparent from the reaction of these fans that he is their number-one choice.
