A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at the latest claim to surface surrounding their on-loan defender Juan Foyth.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Villarreal would like to seal a permanent move for the Argentine defender this summer.

The 23-year-old joined the Yellow Submarine last October on a season-long loan and has since gone on to make 16 La Liga appearances despite suffering from two separate injuries (via Transfermarkt).

Foyth is still under contract with the north London side until 2023 having signed an extended deal with Spurs before making the loan switch to the La Liga side.

In response to the claim, Spurs fans flocked to the tweet to show their annoyance with many hoping to see the centre-back return to the squad for next season.

“He is a lot better than the right backs we currently have “

A separate report from AS suggests that Villarreal have the option to make Foyth’s switch to Spain permanent for a fee of £13m.

It is clear these Spurs fans are frustrated to hear this latest claim regarding the future of their Argentine centre-back which may be a result of the defensive woes Spurs have suffered already this season.
