A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to a post from The Spurs Web, which shows Harry Kane comforting Heung-min Son after Spurs lost 1-0 in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.
Spurs barely threatened throughout the match and only had 38% possession, registering just two shots with only one on target.
After the game, Son was clearly devastated that Spurs had lost, but these Tottenham fans had no sympathy for him.
“No sympathy for Son today, he was the worst player on the pitch”
“Son and Kane still no trophy. What a joke. 14 years and counting. What sort of monkeys are running the club. Absolute embarrassment”
“Love the guy but no sympathy for him today. Was absolutely woeful.”
Do you think that Son deserves any sympathy?
Yes, he played well
No, he was awful
The South Korean wasn’t at his best and earned a 4/10 rating from Alasdair Gold for his performance, but he wasn’t the only player to struggle against City at Wembley.
This post continued to draw in Spurs fans who had their say.
“I don’t feel any emotion watching this Son played terrible. One of Europe’s leading players failed today on the big stage These are players who will jump at the chance to leave for a bigger club given half the chance and money thrown at them I’m done with defending any of them!”
“Son was terrible yesterday, maybe he should of tried to play better”
“State of that mentality. I have never seen anyone cry after losing the milk cup. Embarrassing. He’s at the right club.”
“Not as hard to watch as Son’s performance”
This was a good opportunity for Tottenham to win a trophy, but they never got close to City, and it is clear that many of their fans have no sympathy for Son after his poor display.
It will be interesting to see how Spurs bounce back when they play Sheffield United next.
