In an exclusive interview with This Is Futbol, Rob Lee, who made 280 Premier League appearances, has claimed that Harry Kane is the best striker since Alan Shearer and that he is a born “natural goalscorer”.
Harry Kane is chasing down Shearer’s all-time top scorer record in the Premier League and the Tottenham Hotspur striker needs another 99 goals to overtake the Newcastle legend.

The £200,000 per week striker has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer and several clubs have been credited with an interest in the Premier League’s top scorer this season.
Speaking on how players like Kane are what get fans excited and if he compared to Alan Shearer, Lee told This Is Futbol:
“Fans want to see goals and excitement because that’s what football is all about. It’s great to see a striker come through like Harry Kane because he’s exciting to watch.
“He’s just a natural goalscorer and people love natural goalscorers. Fans love to have a guy in their team that they can idolise who will score goals every single week, and he’s as good as I’ve seen since Alan Shearer.”
It has been a frustrating and inconsistent season for Spurs as they found themselves lagging behind in the race for the top four and have been knocked out of the Europa League.
Much like Shearer, Kane is playing for his boyhood club and may wish to emulate Newcastle’s record goalscorer, become a club legend and get a statue outside their new stadium.
