Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting to a post on Twitter after a report emerged providing an update on Jose Mourinho’s future.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is set to allow the Portuguese boss to carry on next season even if the north London outfit fails to secure any silverware and misses out on Champions League qualification.

The capital club are currently three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League standings and face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at the end of the month.

Mourinho was brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 18 months ago as Levy looked to end the club’s lengthy trophy drought, but according to Football Insider, the 58-year-old will keep his job for another year regardless of whether he achieves that goal this campaign or not, something that didn’t go down too well with the supporters.

“Would be a terrible decision. Have to go with Rodgers or Naglesmann in the summer if we have any ambition.”

@ryangoldy

“Yet Poch was out on his ear. Incredible.”

@fraser8814

“If he continues to play boring,negative dross with fans back in the stadium Levy will have no choice in the end as I’m sure the fans will let their feelings be known.”

@bazrobbins

“That’s my day ruined, alternatively I choose not to believe this!”

@JillLewis88

“one of the worst news i’ve heard all week”

@EthanFiore1

“Awful but unsurprising. They both need gone”

Mourinho has been a divisive character throughout his career, and it appears as though several sections of the Spurs fanbase have had enough of the former Chelsea man.
