Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after Harry Kane gave a damning assessment of the club’s inability to hang onto leads this season.

The north London outfit surrendered a 2-1 advantage over the weekend as Newcastle United fought back from a goal behind to snatch a point late on at St. James’ Park.

Joe Willock’s 95th-minute equaliser meant that Spurs have now lost 15 points from winning positions in the Premier League in the current campaign and their captain was clearly unimpressed with their latest lapse.

In a post-match interview (as per Sky Sports), the 27-year-old said: “It has happened too many times, and it’s simply not good enough for a club of our standard. It’s killing all our ambitions.” And several sections of the supporters appear to be fearful that Kane’s comments could spell the beginning of the end for his time at the capital club.

“Always said this will be Harry’s last season – he looks so fed up and I for one will not blame him for leaving. The geeza deserves trophies – needs to follow Kyle Walker (he knew the score) and now look at him – winning trophies”

“Harry is a very frustrated man!! He loves the club wants to win. we are not matching his ambitions. The manager and the players… he’s off to win the trophies he deserves and I can do nothing but wish him the beat of luck. Tottenham Hotspur’s have let this man down.”

@kevpomp

“We are going to lose him because of this season! We had ambition but have ruined it by not playing our best team! Kane Son Bale have proven dangerous and not been given the time to develop anything over this season! Had the possibility, will end with nothing and losing players!”

@OnlyTottenhams1

“Harry is doing his bit up front. Levy needs to invest in that defence ASAP. If Harry leaves because of our lack of progression, Levy will face a backlash like no other”

@danielbrady82

“Congratulations @SpursOfficial and specially Daniel Levy. It will be your fault when Kane decide to leave the club to win titles.”

@rafadgil

“You can’t blame him for wanting to leave, no winning mentality from the top to bottom. He deserves so much more than this shambles each year!”

@harryluxford10

“In other words he’s had enough of Spurs”

@MelanatedGift

“I hate seeing him like this. He needs to leave THIS SUMMER”

Several of the continent’s top clubs have been linked with a move for Kane this summer, and if the England international is serious about winning silverware in his career, then he may be left with no choice but to move away from his boyhood club.
