Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter after a video emerged of Steven Bergwijn releasing some frustration on a punchbag.

The 23-year-old is enduring a difficult second season at Spurs after making a good impression in his first six months on English shores after signing from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020.

Bergwijn scored an incredible goal on his Tottenham debut against Manchester City but has failed to register a single strike in the current campaign and has been left out of Jose Mourinho’s starting XI since a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on February 4.

The Dutch international failed to make the matchday squad for the north London outfit’s last outing against Newcastle United and was filmed repeatedly striking a punchbag by teammate Serge Aurier, although the Spurs supporters weren’t impressed with the winger’s technique.

“He hits a punch bag like he plays football, not very well”

@joelclements

“Amazed he hit it.”

@reocoaker

“Take it out on pitch by scoring”

@Josejapan1978

“I still don’t know why we signed him”

@TacticalGeniu2

“How about some goals bro”

@KingJ243_

“He punches just as he plays, weak and ineffective.”

@BillTenerife

“Wow he looks just like he does on the pitch”

@spurs1234578

“Looks embarrassing tbh”

@jordanxvg

Tottenham sit just outside of the top four in the Premier League heading into the final eight games of the season, and if Mourinho’s men manage to fire themselves into a Champions League qualification spot, then they’ll need to play with more conviction than the £22.5m rated man demonstrated on the bag.
