Speaking about potential summer moves at Norwich City, Jones insisted a key to their summer window would be keeping hold of their manager, Daniel Farke.
Should Farke be given a new deal?
Norwich currently top the tree in the Championship as they sit eight points clear of second-placed Watford with just five games remaining of the 2020/21 campaign.
The German manager’s contract is set to run out at the end of next season and Jones believes the Canaries need to tie the 44-year-old down to a new deal this summer.
He said: “I think that the first thing they have to do is sort out the futures of their best players and the manager. That has to be what they do, first of all, Daniel Farke, I think his contract ends in 2022.
“Obviously, he’s done a brilliant job for them. And I think that a new contract for him will be a priority.”
TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…
The Canaries are set to earn their spot back in the Premier League after being relegated from the English top flight just last season. Sitting top on 90 points, a lot of praise can be given to the Norwich board for keeping their faith in the German manager.
Farke has certainly repaid their faith this season and Jones feels he should be given a renewed deal at the club. Despite being relegated last year, Farke has shown a lot of resilience in getting the Canaries straight back into a position to gain promotion to the Premier League.
We feel on the back of this season’s dominance, Farke should be rewarded with a new deal and it would also mean one less thing hanging over the club next season in the Premier League given their promotion is all but confirmed.
