Starting with a relatively recent player. Who is this?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was Elliot Anderson and his future.

The 18-year-old made his first-team debut earlier this season and has been on the bench eight times in all competitions for the first team.

He is very highly thought of by those at St. James’ Park, and Kennedy clearly rates him highly as well, however, he is worried that the Toon’s management team won’t handle Andreson’s development properly.

Speaking as discussion turned to the Under-18 side, Kennedy said: “Elliot Anderson is a player who I think could be the best of the lot.

“I’m really impressed by him, really clever, clever midfielder, who can play a little deeper breaking forward, can also drop into the 10 role and is quite a graceful player with ball at feet.

“There aren’t that many players like that; we need to look after him. He needs to be looked after properly by the management, and I don’t really have any faith that the management will do that.”

Do you think Anderson should be given more first-team opportunities?

TIF Thoughts on Anderson…

Steve Bruce has praised Anderson in the past and has claimed that he has a bright future, but despite making his first-team debut, he has only made one more first-team appearance since then.

So, we can see why Kennedy is worried about Anderson, but it also must be remembered that he is just 18 and still has plenty of time left in his career.

However, next season we would like to see Anderson perhaps go out on loan or be involved more in Newcastle’s first team.
