Lots of Newcastle United fans have taken to Lee Ryder’s tweet to voice their thoughts at the latest comments from Steve Bruce regarding his hopes to sign Joe Willock on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan with the Tyneside club from Arsenal until the end of the season and has already left a lasting impression on the Toon Army.

Do you want Willock to stay at Newcastle long term?

In his last two games, Willock has scored a late equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur and the winning goal against West Ham United on Saturday.

Following their three points against the Hammers, Chronicle journalist Ryder relayed Bruce’s comments stating he would love to see the player at St. James’ Park next season.

Bruce said: “We would love to keep him here. He’s the type of player you’d love to build your club around.”

And the Toon Army flocked to Ryder’s tweet to slam Bruce’s comments, with many feeling they will struggle to permanently sign the youngster.

“Maybe if the Saudis takeover We can get him But we have got no Chance if Mike Ashley remains in charge”

Willock has featured just nine times for the Magpies this season, however, he has scored three huge goals in their fight against relegation and the side have not lost in any of the games in which he has got on the scoresheet (via Transfermarkt).

From the replies of these Newcastle fans, it is clear they would also love to see Willock make his move to Tyneside permanent, but the majority also make it clear they do not see it actually happening.
