Lots of Newcastle United fans have vented their anger on Twitter at the latest video to emerge surrounding the proposed European Super League.

The video showed the Sheffield United owner, Prince Abdullah Bin Musa’ed, discussing the proposed breakaway league and the conversations between the other 14 Premier League clubs not involved in the plans.

He said (per translation): “And I have a remark about the Premier League, they usually care about big six opinions more than the other 14 teams’ opinions.”

A Saudi Arabian-based consortium was reportedly in talks with Mike Ashley to purchase the club last summer, however, the bid was withdrawn due to the complications they experienced in trying to pass the Premier League’s owner checks.

Claims from Amanda Staveley soon after the bid’s collapse appear to have since been vindicated following the attempts to form a breakaway league, and these comments from the Blades owner look to have provided further weight to the belief that there were unfair circumstances surrounding the failure of the talks in the eyes of the fans.

Newcastle fans flocked to the tweet to react to these claims from the Blades’ owner and show their frustration towards the Premier League surrounding their proposed takeover bid.

Wow!! More evidence! Well done Alwaleed !!!”

Newcastle still find themselves involved in a Premier League relegation battle, but two wins and a draw in their last three league games has provided them with an eight-point over 18th-placed Fulham.

Going by the reaction of these Newcastle fans it is apparent to see they are still frustrated by their Saudi-led takeover collapsing with some believing the ‘big six’ to have had some influential say on the matter.
