A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from Mark Douglas, which includes a link to a report on The Chronicle’s website about manufacturer Castore.

Starting with a relatively recent player. Who is this?

Speaking to City AM, Castore founder Tom Beahon claimed that his brand would be in the Premier League next year (City AM via The Chronicle).

Castore was rumoured to be taking over from Puma for the 2021/22 season as Newcastle’s kit manufacturers, and this comment would suggest that deal is happening if the Toon stay up, which these fans clearly doubt.

They hope… we could be in Championship yet haha”

@DeanDodds2

Bold of them to assume we’re not going down.”

Can’t be our next kit then”

@KeithFenwick10

Do you think Castore will make Newcastle's kits next season?

Yes, it is looking that way

Yes, it is looking that way

No, we will be stuck with Puma

No, we will be stuck with Puma

The company are also rumoured to be producing Wolverhampton Wanderers’ kits next season, so these comments could be hinting at that rather than any deal with the Toon.

This post continued to draw in Newcastle fans, who had their say.

I know many knock our Puma kits but changing to Castore would be a massive backwards step based on the feedback from Rangers fans regarding their shirts, poor quality & they don’t wash well etc”

@jasonhebron

“A know a guy who’s Castore Rangers shirt fell to bits, he was fuming, said it was the worst 30 lira he ever spent…”

@GallowgateGaz82

Have they sign a contract with an option for NUFC or Fulham?”

@Chris_p18

It is clear that Douglas thinks that the proposed deal between the Toon and Castore was the one that Beahon was hinting at; however, given the Toon’s Premier League position, we can see why some of these Newcastle fans are not so sure.
