Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the latest news in the long-running saga that is the potential takeover of the club.
It has been well over a year now since the news emerged that the club was in the process of possibly being taken over by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, only for the deal to be called off in July, leaving Newcastle United stuck with Mike Ashley for the foreseeable future.
A recent report from The Daily Mail claims that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was lobbied by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to ‘correct a wrong decision’ over claims that the Premier League had blocked the takeover from going through.
According to Lee Ryder, the Premier League has issued a ‘no comment’ response to the claims involving PM Johnson, which has left a lot of Newcastle fans furious when the news was relayed to them on social media:
“Between Ashley, Charnley and Masters, the phrase “no comment” now sends me into a fit of rage. Cheers lads.”
Do you think the takeover will go through in the summer?
Yes, it has to
No, it will fail again
They often say that ‘no news is good news’, well it seems as if that isn’t the case for these supporters.
