Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest transfer news concerning Toon goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

This comes after The Chronicle shared a post on their official Newcastle-themed Facebook page relaying news originally published by The Sunday Mirror’s print edition (via The Chronicle) that Championship side Watford are weighing up a move to sign Darlow this summer.

Starting with a relatively recent player. Who is this?

This post then gathered a number of replies from Toon fans, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Newcastle fans have to say in response to this latest transfer news surrounding Darlow?

Newcastle signed the 30-year-old, who is currently valued at £2.7 million, back in August 2014 from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £4.5 million. Since then, the shot-stopper has made 91 appearances for the Tyneside club in which he has managed to keep 25 clean sheets (per Transfermarkt).

Do you think Newcastle should sell Karl Darlow this summer?

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that these Newcastle fans have a lot of respect for Darlow and some think he may be better off at a club where he can get regular playing time, considering he hasn’t featured in any of Newcastle’s seven previous league games.

In our view, if Darlow can move to a club where he would be their first-choice goalkeeper, then he should seriously consider leaving Newcastle this summer and start a new chapter in his career.
