A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from their club, which contains an image of a teamsheet from the Toon’s Under-23s game against Crystal Palace.
On that teamsheet, it confirmed that Fabian Schar had made his return from injury after he was stretchered off the pitch against Southampton in February.
Steve Bruce confirmed that the Swiss international was making good progress, and he was given the chance to get some minutes into his legs ahead of a potential first-team return, which has excited these Toon fans.
“Fabulous Schär is back!”
“Back for the Arsenal game let’s gooo”
“Get him in the starting 11 and we are winning the league”
Are you pleased to see Schar back?
Yes, great to see him back
No, he isn't that good
Before Schar picked up his injury against the Saints, he had played in nine of the Toon’s ten previous league games and turned in some good performances.
However, the injury to his knee looked serious, and you could be forgiven for thinking his season might be over.
Therefore, these Toon fans are buzzing to see Schar back.
“Great to see him on the pitch again”
“Yeeeeees”
“Interesting”
Newcastle have five games left this season, so it would be good to see Schar play some part in at least some of those before the season ends.
