Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post on the club’s official Twitter account after it revealed Craig Pawson will be in charge for their game against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend.
The Magpies will be looking to bounce back from a hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of relegation rivals Brighton and Hove Albion last time when Jose Mourinho’s men make the trip up north on Sunday.
Just two wins from their last 18 Premier League encounters has piled the pressure on Steve Bruce as Newcastle hover just one place and two points above the drop zone, meaning a positive result against the capital club could prove pivotal to the remainder of their campaign.
However, the news that Pawson is set to be the man in the middle when Spurs visit St. James’ Park hasn’t filled many supporters with much confidence.
