Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting on Twitter after a post revealed the club are eyeing up Danilho Doekhi ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old Vitesse Arnhem centre-back has impressed for the Eredivisie outfit this season, achieving a healthy 6.92 WhoScored rating from his 28 league appearances.
According to Football Insider, the Magpies have joined Scottish giants Rangers in a race for his signature as the two British clubs aim to improve their backline for the next campaign.
The report states that Vitesse have slapped a £6m price tag on the Dutch under-21 international after Doekhi has helped Thomas Letsch’s side achieve the second-best defensive record in the Eredivisie this season, and the Newcastle fans are clearly excited by the club’s interest.
