Lots of Newcastle United fans have been talking about the latest tweet from Mark Douglas that recently emerged on social media.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, ex-Roma owner Pallotta expressed an interest in buying a Premier League club and he ended up name dropping Newcastle United.
He said that a lot of teams in the Premier League have a great history – like Newcastle and he’d be interested in being part of a good group of investors.
Do you think Pallotta should try buying Newcastle?
Yes
No
Douglas’ tweet concerned Pallotta and the idea of him taking over at St. James’ Park. Many Toon fans made their views clear about the American.

In another interview with The Athletic, Pallotta potentially hinted at an offer for Newcastle, before cutting off to say “I’m kidding” regarding the prospect of it.
Pallotta’s stint at Roma ended last summer and he was the Giallorossi’s owner for about eight years. His departure from the Stadio Olimpico was rather acrimonious, as he sold the club to fellow American billionaire Dan Friedkin.

Some Newcastle fans don’t like the idea of Pallotta owning their club and they’re making it very clear.
Roma legend Francesco Totti had been a big critic of the American and the club veteran said that Pallotta had tried to push everyone aside and he hardly visited the Italian capital for the club’s games. Pallotta was one reason for Totti’s departure (As per the Guardian).
Pallotta was also criticised by Roma fans when Daniele De Rossi departed the club. Not just that, but the American fell out with Monchi as well.
These should be warning signs for Newcastle and because of that, it would be best for the Magpies to not be owned by Pallotta.
