Many Newcastle United fans have been discussing the club’s links with a move for Fulham’s Mario Lemina.

The Guardian has recently reported about Lemina, saying that the Magpies are interested in signing him in the summer and the Gabon midfielder could be available for a fee of just £7 million. The report claims that West Ham United are also interested in the former Juventus man.

Both clubs are said to have made initial contact with Lemina’s entourage, and while the player remains on loan from parent club Southampton, he is not thought to be part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

This update was relayed on Twitter by NUFC 360. Many Newcastle fans made their views clear about the midfielder.

Lemina spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Galatasaray and played regularly in midfield for them too, featuring 20 times in the league and playing four cup games for the Turkish giants. He scored only once during his spell.

Starting with a relatively recent player. Who is this?

He last played for Southampton in the 2018/19 campaign, but failed to become a regular for the Saints in that season.

Some of these Newcastle fans would like to see Lemina at their club. In the current season, the Saints loanee has played 25 times for Scott Parker’s side, scoring once and assisting once.

He clearly has Premier League experience, but he has also played in the Champions League with Juventus and Marseille in the past too.

So to sign a player like that for a bargain fee could be a very good move for the Magpies.
