Carla DiBello appeared to drop a slight hint about Newcastle’s takeover on Friday.
DiBello advised on the £305million deal through her consultancy firm.
If the deal eventually goes through, she could apparently retain an ongoing advisory role.
The American also previously shared a petition calling for an investigation into the Premier League’s handling of the process.
There is still hope for the proposed takeover. According to the Telegraph, the Saudi-backed consortium will resubmit its offer to buy the club if they are successful in their arbitration against the League.
That arbitration has yet to ‘begin in earnest’, though, and is proving to be ‘painfully slow’ (via The Athletic).

DiBello posted an image on her Instagram feed on Thursday captioned ‘The calm…’
In reply, Newcastle fan Sam Rowan commented ‘before the takeover’, and DiBello ‘liked’ the comment.
Rowan circulated a screenshot to his Twitter followers, telling them that ‘it’s happening’, before clarifying that he was joking.
Nonetheless, some supporters felt it was potentially significant, while others weren’t convinced.
