A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from The Chronicle, which has a link included to an article in their website with quotes from Frank McAvennie.
McAvennie speaking to Football Insider about Eddie Howe and Celtic, revealed that the former Bournemouth manager has stalled on taking the Bhoys job because he’s talking to Newcastle.
McAvennie then claimed that this was a shame because “Bruce has done a good job”.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans who are fuming.
“Another moron who thinks Bruce has done a good job”
“No Frank, Steve Bruce took over a tenth placed team, spent 100m net and is currently on a run of 3 wins in 23. Utter garbage”
“In what fantasy world is Frank McAvennie living?”
Do you think McAvennie is right?
No, totally wrong
Yes, Bruce has done a decent job
These seem incredible comments given that Bruce’s Newcastle have won three games of football since the 12th of December.
He has also spent just over £100m on new players and has his side 17th.
This post continued to draw in angry Toon fans.
“Frank McAvennie, very relevant then!”
“You still pumping this nonsense? Clickbait.”
“Its got to be a wind-up, or he has very low standards in management”
“A good job… you sure”
It is clear that these Newcastle fans were not happy with McAvennie’s comments, and we can see why given how bad Newcastle have been this season.
