Wilson posted a photo on his Instagram page of him suspended in the air during a jumping exercise.
He captioned it: ‘Each day is a step (jump) closer’
Wilson hasn’t featured for Newcastle since he picked up a hamstring injury in the victory over Southampton in February.
Wilson poised to return at Burnley
Last weekend’s game against Spurs came too soon for him, but Steve Bruce confirmed in his pre-match press conference that he is back available for the trip to Turf Moor.
He’s been training all week in preparation.
Bruce will have to decide whether to throw the 29-year-old straight back into the starting line-up or merely hand him a fitness-boosting run-out from the bench.
Victory in Lancashire will move Newcastle six points clear of the relegation zone with seven games to play.
The club’s official account relayed Wilson’s update, and here’s how supporters reacted.

“Dude is levitating. We’re safe”
“We’re on the up.”
