Talking Shutt host Gary Devonport has been speaking on the latest edition of the podcast about all things relating to Leeds United.

Leeds have had some odd players over the last ten years but how well do you remember them. Starting with the most recent one, who is this?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was Pontus Jansson potentially returning to Elland Road after the Swedish international admitted recently that he still loves Leeds.

However, Devonport is clearly not his biggest fan and is happy with the Whites’ current options.

He said: “He’s not better than the ones we’ve got, I think, and that’s even taking a little bit of a punt on [Robin] Koch and [Diego] Llorente.

“I’d arguably say [they’ve] probably got more pedigree than Pontus as well.

“I felt that at times his cheering and carrying on and all this cult hero status-type stuff covered over some cracks that I thought [were] obvious.

“There were some times where he was dreadfully out of position [and] made Cooper’s life a bit harder.”

Do you think Jansson should return to Leeds?

TIF Thoughts on Jansson…

Jansson, valued at £4,05m, made 120 appearances for the Whites before he departed in the summer of 2019 to join Brentford in a move that left many Leeds fans raging.

Leeds then went up and signed two full internationals in Robin Koch and Diego Llorente in the last summer transfer window to join the likes of Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk in the heart of the defence, giving Marcelo Bielsa plenty of options.

Jansson was loved by many Leeds fans but clearly not by Devonport, and we think that the Whites have moved on from Jansson now.

The likes of Koch and Llorente have been injured for huge portions of this season, so it is hard to make a proper judgement on them.

Still, though the Whites have conceded a lot of goals this season, Cooper has been one of their best players according to WhoScored, so we don’t really think Leeds miss Jansson – or certainly not as much as he seems to miss the club.
