Leeds United fans have been reacting to a stat regarding their young goalkeeper Illan Meslier following his display against Manchester United.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men managed to hold the Red Devils to a 0-0 draw in a much quieter affair than the 6-2 defeat that they suffered at Old Trafford earlier in the season.
With that draw, came a rather special accolade for the Frenchman as he became (via @SkySportsStatto) the youngest goalkeeper in Premier League history to keep 10 clean sheets.
It certainly has been an impressive season for the 21-year-old, who only cost the club £5m to in the summer from French side FC Lorient, as he ranks in the top five in both saves and save percentage in his debut season in the division.
So when his recent accomplishment was relayed to fans by @LUFCDATA, along with a video of him pulling off a tremendous save, there were plenty of fans willing to pile on the praise for his performances this season:
“Tie this man down to a long term contract, getting better every game”
Has Meslier got the potential to be one of the best goalkeepers in the division?
Yes
No
That £5m is starting to look like even more of a bargain now, don’t you think?
