Manchester City and Leeds United lock horns once again on Saturday lunchtime after an entertaining meeting earlier in the season.
BBC Sport’s Phil McNulty described the content as ‘thrilling’ and marvelled at the ‘glorious chaos’ of an end-to-end encounter.
Leeds, meanwhile, are bidding to leapfrog Arsenal and move into the top half.
Bielsa is Guardiola’s ‘mentor’
Ahead of the game, Pep Guardiola has been effusive in his praise for opposite number Marcelo Bielsa.
Back in 2006, when Guardiola was still considering pursuing a career in management, he sought the advice of Bielsa in an 11-hour meeting.
Sky Sports’ Nick Wright describes Bielsa as the City boss’ ‘mentor’.
“Everyone knows the admiration and the respect, the way he helped me in my beginnings,” Guardiola said in a lengthy tribute.
Leeds page LUFCDATA relayed his comments, and here’s how the Yorkshire outfit’s supporters reacted.
Leeds fans lap up Guardiola’s Bielsa praise
“Bless Pep for his kind words. I’ll try and remember them, when his team tears ours a new one.”
“Pep to be the next Leeds United manager/coach god forbidden the Messiah leaves Elland road”
“And if he had half the team of Man City’s at his disposal, we’d be challenging for the title. Sprinkling of additions in the summer and next yr will be amazing like this first season back has been.”
“Bring tears to my eyes how blessed we are to have Bielsa as our manger.”
“Wow great praise from one great manager to another.”
“Thanks Pep! Marcelo admires you a lot too!!”
“Very high praise indeed from a man who knows”
