Beren Cross has been speaking on the latest episode of the Orta Know Better podcast, where he revealed Leeds United are looking to bring in up to five summer signings.

The west Yorkshire outfit have impressed this season and are currently sitting in 10th position in the Premier League table.

Marcelo Bielsa strengthened his squad significantly after winning promotion from the Championship last season, bringing in the likes of Rodrigo, Raphinha, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch for a combined total of £96m.

However, Cross believes Leeds will be looking to add even more quality to their first-team squad in the upcoming window.

He said: (19:19) “At the moment, I think, from what we’re told, there’s definitely going to be three or four, if not five, that they would like to bring in.

“We did speak to Angus before the January window, and he told us that the way they were looking to go was they’d spent the money they’d spent last summer, obviously a very, very sizable investment, even with Premier League money, because they didn’t want to then be spending that money every single window thereafter.

“Those players are all there to stay for several years now. They’re all either in their prime or approaching their prime. So, I don’t think we’ll see the same level of investment this summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Leeds…

Bielsa has Leeds playing some of the most exciting football in the top flight, and with some added additions for the 2021/22 campaign, they could go on to reach new heights.

Funds may be restricted due to the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but if the Elland Road side can bring in some quality additions, then a top-half finish may just be on the cards for next season.
