Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has told This Is Futbol in an exclusive interview that his old side should be demanding £50-60m for Ollie Watkins from any potential suitors.
This comes after Football Insider claimed that Liverpool could make a move for the 25-year-old. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp seems to be an admirer of the player, with the German labelling him “undefendable” earlier this season.
Villa signed Watkins from Brentford in an initial £28m deal in the last summer transfer window, but Hendrie is expecting him to go for up to double that should a team like Liverpool coming knocking after the campaign he has had.
How many players do you think Villa need to sign this summer?

On the Merseyside club’s reported interest in Watkins, Hendrie told TIF:
“I mean, double figures in goals this season, he’s a young player, they paid £30m plus for him. They’ve certainly got to be looking around £50m to £60m for him. Why would they sell him for anything less than that?”
Even at £60m, you would expect Villa to be very reluctant to part ways with Watkins this summer.
His goal record in the current Premier League campaign obviously makes him a valuable asset to Dean Smith, one that he could struggle to replace.
