Former Everton striker Marcus Bent has exclusively told This is Futbol that Moise Kean wasn’t given enough time to impress Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian arrived on Merseyside with a weight of expectation on his shoulders following his exploits for Juventus the previous season, but never quite managed to become a regular in the Toffees side under Marco Silva, Duncan Ferguson or Ancelotti himself.

Kean scored just twice in 33 appearances throughout the whole of last season, but made just six starts Premier League starts.

Despite Kean’s struggles at Goodison Park, the 21-year-old earned himself a shock loan move to Ligue 1 champions PSG back in October, where he’s since flourished.

Mauricio Pochettino might have the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe in his Paris squad, but the Everton loanee has more than held his own in the French capital – netting 16 times in all competitions, including PSG’s third in their thumping victory at Barcelona in the Champions League.

Only Mbappe has scored more than Everton’s Italian frontman for the French giants this season, and Bent believes that he should have been given more of a chance of catch Ancelotti’s eye at Goodison Park.

He told This is Futbol:

“I spoke to someone at the training ground and they didn’t have anything much to say other than they don’t know whether he’s training right, or not doing so well in training.

“You need time to impress and if you don’t get time it’s hard. He’s got to be a player playing for PSG and Juventus, they’re big sides. He must be an outstanding talent, but he just hasn’t shown it.”
