Peterborough United Director of Football Barry Fry has been blown away by the plans that have been put in place at Everton, telling This is Futbol in an exclusive interview that the club’s fans will be delighted.

The Toffees are in the process of building a brand new stadium that will replace Goodison Park.

The 52,888-seat stadium will sit at Bramley-Moore Dock, after the government approved of their plans earlier this month, per The Guardian.

The club announced afterwards that the stadium would be “world-class” and they have also taken steps to ensure they are in a position to compete on the pitch.

The Toffees splashed the cash last summer, signing the likes of James Rodriguez, Allan, and Ben Godfrey, while also appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager.

It remains to be seen if the club can qualify for Europe this season but they are currently sitting in eighth place in the Premier League, just five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, and level on points with bitter rivals Liverpool.

And Fry believes that the plans for the future will have the supporters in raptures.

He told TIF: “Everton, wow, the new guy that took over is very ambitious.

“They’re building a new ground, an absolutely magnificent new ground, the Evertonians will be over the moon with what’s happening.”

The stadium is scheduled to be completed ahead of the beginning of the 2024/25 season.
